She forgave her father whom she saw kill her mother when Valeria was only two years old. Her joy, that came from knowing God, is what gave meaning to everything. Her goodness made her very much loved by her friends and all who knew her and her purity was like a light for those around her. Valeria was a model student and a dedicated young person. She entered as an aspirant with the Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother and she kept in her heart a great desire: the desire to belong exclusively to the love of her heart, Jesus Christ. Valeria died at the age of 15 years old in the earthquake that shook Ecuador on the 16th of April, 2016, along with Sr. Clare Crockett, Servant Sister of the Home of the Mother, and four other young people of the Home.
