HM Television presents “Ferdinand III the Saint: A Kingdom in Defense of Christianity”, a documentary made for the 350th anniversary of the Spanish monarch’s canonization. Ferdinand III was defined by Gregory IX as an athlete of Christ. He stands out among the kings of the middle ages as a king whose only interests were maintaining and extending the Faith. He did not search for his own glory, but for God’s glory. The cry, “God wills it” drove him to give a new impulse to the Hispanic Crusade against the Muslim invader, reconquering and restoring the Kingdom of Spain for Jesus Christ.
